Granite quarrying or extraction is process by a series of operation by removing blocks or pieces of stone from an identified and unearthed geologic deposit. Differences in the particular quarrying techniques used often stems from variations in the physical properties of the deposit itself.
The first step in quarrying is to gain access to the granite deposit. This is achieved by removing the layer of earth, vegetation, and rock unsuitable for product—collectively referred to as overburden—with heavy equipment and transferring to onsite storage for potential use in later reclamation of the site. Quarrying operations typically include the drilling of holes along the perimeter of the bench, followed by either cutting the stone out of the deposit using saws equipped with diamond wire, or by splitting the stone using hydraulic splitters or small explosive charges.
Granite Quarry Processing Plant
There are many types of equipment involving in the granite quarrying and processing operations. SBM is specialized in manufacturing and supplying of quarrying and mining equipment including crushing, grinding, and sand making machines. With the excellent performance, many types of our mining equipment are well received in the world market.
Granite Crushing Process and Machine
The extracted granite stone will be first crushed for size reduction into small pieces. Firstly, stones are explored from hills and delivered to the vibrating feeder. Then vibrating feeder feeds them into primary crusher. After primary crushing by jaw crusher, the material will be conveyed into secondary crusher, often impact crusher for further crushing.
But more often the products of secondary crusher get screened by vibrating screen and whose can fit the requirement will leave this process and become the final product and the others will go back to secondary crusher or even primary crusher to get crushed. Cone crusher is often used as tertiary crusher for fine crushing.
